{"id":1004,"date":"2003-10-23T23:27:05","date_gmt":"2003-10-24T05:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/trinityanimation.com\/blog\/?p=1004"},"modified":"2018-07-26T10:08:33","modified_gmt":"2018-07-26T16:08:33","slug":"3d-printing-service-new-mizzou-arena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trinityanimation.com\/blog\/3d-printing-service-new-mizzou-arena\/","title":{"rendered":"3D Printing Service for New Mizzou Basketball Arena"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the design for the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mizzou_Arena\">new basketball arena<\/a> for the University of Missouri took shape in 2003, R&amp;D Prototype asked Trinity Animation to help develop a model that could be made to a physical &#8220;rapid prototype&#8221; via the laser sintering machines available at R&amp;D. The process required a skilled animator to go through each element of the 3D model to make sure it was perfectly formed and welded. Any 3D model printing service will require a well-formed 3D model before the process of printing can begin.<\/p>\n<p>The 3D model Trinity Created is absolutely water-tight (lacking in any openings between any 2 polygons) and ready for physical output. A CAD model was used as a starting point, but Trinity modeled over the top of this to create a perfectly \u00a0booleaned\/welded 3D model. A quarter is included for scale reference. Detailed relief elements are modeled into the structure.
